Privacy Policy

This policy covers https://freejobalert.space, operated by TODO — registered company name ("we", "us"). It explains how we handle personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

You can read this entire website without an account and without giving us any personal data. Everything below applies only once you choose to register, subscribe or interact.

What we collect

If you create an account

Name and email address (required).
Password, stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it.
Phone number, date of birth, profile picture and preferred job category, if you add them.
For employer accounts: company name, phone number and address, used to verify the account and attribute postings.

If you use account features

Jobs, results and other items you bookmark or follow.
Alert preferences — email alerts, daily digest, deadline reminders.
Comments or reports you submit.
Browser push-notification subscriptions, if you grant permission.
A record of changes made to content by editorial and administrative users.

If you subscribe to email alerts without an account

Your email address, an optional name, and your alert preferences.
Confirmation of your opt-in. We use double opt-in: you receive a confirmation link and are not added until you click it.

Automatically, when you browse

A session cookie, needed to keep you logged in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery.
Analytics data via Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, referring site, and how you move through pages. This is used in aggregate to understand which content is useful.
Standard server logs, including IP address, for security and abuse investigation.

We do not sell personal data. We do not run behavioural advertising profiles. We do not collect sensitive categories such as caste, religion, biometrics or financial account details — please do not send them to us.

Why we use it

To run your account — authentication, email verification, saved items, preferences.
To send what you asked for — job alerts, deadline reminders, the digest you opted into.
To operate the service — security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, debugging.
To improve the site — aggregate analytics showing which pages help candidates.
To verify employers — checking that an account posting vacancies is genuine.

We rely on your consent for alerts, push notifications and analytics, and on the necessity of performing the service you requested for the rest. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf:

Hosting — our infrastructure provider stores the database and application.
Email delivery — to send verification, alert and digest emails.
Google (Analytics, Tag Manager) and Microsoft (Clarity) — website analytics.
Browser push services — your browser vendor delivers push notifications you subscribed to.
Bunny Fonts — serves our typefaces. It is used because it sets no cookies and does not track visitors.

We disclose data to authorities only where legally required. We do not share your email address with recruiters or advertisers.

How long we keep it

Account data — until you delete your account.
Email subscriptions — until you unsubscribe. Unverified subscriptions are discarded.
Analytics — per the retention configured with the provider, in aggregate.
Server logs — a short rolling window for security purposes.
Editorial activity records — retained as an audit trail of content changes.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete — most of it directly in your profile.
Erase your data. You can delete your own account from your dashboard; it removes your profile, saved items and preferences, and takes down any vacancies posted from it.
Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from any email using its unsubscribe link, turn off alerts in preferences, or revoke notification permission in your browser.
Complain to us first, and to the Data Protection Board of India if unsatisfied.

To exercise any of these, write to privacy@freejobalert.space. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Opting out of analytics

Use your browser's "Do Not Track" or an ad/analytics blocker, or block cookies for this site. Nothing on the site stops working if you do — analytics is not required to read or search anything here.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS with strict transport security. Passwords are hashed. We apply a content security policy, rate limit authentication and search, and restrict administrative access by role. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat credentials and contact details as the sensitive data they are.

Children

The site is intended for candidates old enough to apply for government recruitment. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has registered, tell us and we will remove the account.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be notified to registered users by email.
